Princeton University earned the top spot in USRowing's preseason men's lightweight eight coaches' poll. Princeton received four of 10 first-place votes to earn the top spot. Yale University also received four first-place votes to rank second. The United States Naval Academy, Cornell University and Harvard University rounded out the top five. Cornell received the other two first-place votes.
