Kent School Boys vs. St. John's
April 5, 2014 - Kent School
Submitted by Eric Houston
Distance: 1700 meters
Conditions: Strong tail current and winds. Mostly head wind with occasional gusty cross winds.
Comments: The conditions were pretty difficult for the coxswains and rowers alike. For most races the first 500m had very strong head winds, the middle 500m were cross winds and then the final part of the course again was battered by a strong head wind. The crews started anywhere from right on the line for the first boats to about 100m into the course for the 4th boats* because of the current and wind at the starting line. Thank you to St. John's for making the trip south. Note- today was the first day on the water for St. John's since their lake has been frozen until today!
