Following in the footprints of Daren Clarke and Rory Mc Ilroy, fermanagh born Holly Nixon has joined the boys by making headlines world wide. Returning from Dorey Lakes in England Holly took time out of her hectic training schedule to meet with Fermanagh TV to recap on the past few weeks which saw her elevate to Ireland's First world junior rowing champion. Finnish Sulkavan Suursoudut Rowing Race

Finnish traditional style wooden rowing boats, normally now made of plywood. Since 1984 there have been competitions in 40 foot 'church-boats', 14 seat craft plus a cox that were traditionally used in church trips. The race route is approximately 60 kilometers.

Cambridge Town Bumping Races - Come on Ely!

Cambridge town 'bumps' take place on the river Cam. Crews from local rowing clubs and Cambridge College 'old boys' compete to gain 'head' of the river. Crews set off at 20 second intervals and race to catch the crew in front by physically bumping them!

Doncaster Splash and Dash 25 July 2011

Doncaster Rowing Club organised the first Splash and Dash Rowing Regatta on Doncaster Lakeside on Sunday 2th July 2011. The Mayor of Doncaster attended. Mixed crews (male/female & junior/senior) competed in knock-out races between single, double and quad sculls, giving several members their first taste of side-by- side scull racing. A mixed crew of 8 also demonstrated sweep oar technique.

Vipers (Vision Impaired Rowing Crew)

Vision Impaired Adaptive Rowing Program (VIARP) crew competing in the June 2011 Corporate Rowing Regatta on the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City. The crew, known as the Vipers, is comprised of vision-impaired and sighted rowers. VIARP is a cooperative program of RiverSport Oklahoma City and NewView Oklahoma.
