The Weser - my river - 480 km long. At km 80 I was born and I grew up. 1964 I started rowing - with the rowing team of the local high school. Soon we shared the big river with the big barges. This was the beginning of a - part time - life on seas and rivers and at their shores. Die Weser - mein Fluß - 480 km lang. Bei km 80 bin ich geboren und aufgewachsen. 1964 fing ich das Rudern an - in der Schülerruderriege des örtlichen Gymnasiums. Bald teilten wir uns den großen Fluß mit den großen Schuten. Das war der Beginn eines - zumindest zeitweiligen - Lebens auf Seen und Flüssen und an deren Ufern.
