Guin Batten and Bob Gullett made the first ever crossing of the English Channel in Olympic Class single rowing sculls in 2003. They both broke the old world record time, Guin became the first women to solo the crossing and set the new record of 3hr 14 mins, some 8 minutes faster than the mens rowing record!!
