Head Coaches Cory Conzemius (M8+, M2-, M4-, M2x, M1x) and Madeline Hopkins (W4-, W2x, W2-, W1x) are pleased to announce the U.S. roster for the rescheduled 2021 World University Games in Chengdu, China.
Athletes competed for the first time together at USRowing Summer Nationals in Ohio following a 12 day training camp in Oklahoma City.
At Summer Nationals, the World University Games athletes competed in both the U23 and Open categories, with the Women's 4- racing as a coxed four due to scheduling conflicts with the straight four event. The women won the Open 4+ event and Uni-Team USA also finished 3rd in the Men's U23 8+, 2nd in the Women's Open 2x, and 3rd in the Women's U23 2-.
The team left Ohio headed for China and a training camp at the Peisheng Boat Co. headquarters on Qiandao Lake before moving to the athlete village in Chengdu.
The World University Games begin on July 27th with an opening ceremony, and the rowing events will be raced August 4th-6th.
