You guys beat Saugatuck and Greenwich? Weird cause I thought they got top two in the men's 8+.

Gosh, don't you know that in competitive rowing, being serious, working hard, and going fast is a secondary goal? Real rowers row so that they can look cool. Besides, Saugatuck and Greenwich basically are slower than Manhasset, because the race occurred in LI. 19 seconds is hardly anything anyway!

Why let the details get in the way of a good story? Yes, they might have been 3rd in the Boys 8+, but clearly they believe they are first in the "cool" category. Maybe less focus on cool...

How about more focus on geography (neither Saugatuck nor Greenwich are ON the Island) and less on lobbing anonymous critiques & deprecations at some nice kids with a sense of humor and style--i.e, lighten up, fellas.

Speak truth to power you international sculler of mystery you! What is going on in rowing that we don't have boys and girls anymore in highschool? You don't find "women" or "men" competing in basketball, soccer, or volleyball at your local school....but in rowing it seems you have to work hard to "kids" to race against.

The officials seem to be recognizing hands up in Boston. I sure would love to see a return to this system. The new one over-empowers officials. Raising a hand works. So do warnings for crews that misuse a coxswain's hand. The new system stinks.
