Distance: 2.5 miles
Conditions: First half of course crosswind with moderate chop, second half head wind with slight chop conditions remained the same for all events.
Comments: Overcast day but the rain held off until the Apple Pie Contest was completed after racing. USRA Officials tasted over 15 pies while competitors enjoying a BBQ picnic complete with applewood smoked chicken bbq and homemade potato salad. 2009 Apple Pie Champion is Cindi Malinick and the trophy was presented by two-time (2006 & 2008) apple pie champion Greg Fuller.
